ÖSM Internship Application

At ÖSM, we are committed to serving the churches of Austria. An important part of this is training leaders. To this end, we offer a one-year internship at ÖSM.

As an intern, you will be employed full-time by us and will have the opportunity to gain experience in ministry. One-third of your working hours will be directly invested in education, and you will be mentored by an internship supervisor from the staff team.

The internship is a prerequisite for working as a travel secretary at ÖSM.

The following requirements must be met to participate in an ÖSM internship:

  • You align with ÖSM’s vision and statement of faith.
  • You regularly attend meetings at a church or congregation that aligns with the Evangelical Alliance’s statement of faith.
  • You have an interdenominational perspective.
  • You have experience in student ministry (e.g., active participation in an ÖSM group).
  • You are willing to cover 50% of your ministry expenses through a personal support network of donors (training will be provided in advance).

For the official application, you will need the following documents:

  • Resume (including experience in Christian ministry)
  • Letter of motivation
  • Two references (preferably one from an elder in your congregation and one from a person known to us at ÖSM)

Application Process

As a first step, we recommend that you contact our Secretary General.

Following a positive initial interview, we ask you to send the application materials listed above to the General Secretary by the deadline.

Next, we will schedule an interview with you and at least one member of the Executive Board.

Once all these interviews have taken place and the application deadline has passed, the Board of Directors will meet and make a decision. Of course, we will inform you of the result as soon as possible.

The application deadline is May 1st.

If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact our General Secretary at any time.
