SLK Weekend in Gmunden – Strengthened for the New Semester
August 4, 2025
At the last September weekend - it was time again: the Student Leader Circle (SLK) gathered for its biggest SLK weekend yet, in Gmunden. Over three days we experienced how enriching it is to journey together, learn from one another, and be equipped for ministry at the universities.
At the center of our time were Bible studies on Jesus after His resurrection – a strong focus that reminded us anew what it means to follow Jesus in everyday life and what a great God He is. Alongside this spiritual nourishment, we also engaged deeply with the ÖSM strategy, made decisions together, and received practical training in workshops for our ministry.
A special highlight was the outreach on Saturday in Gmunden, together with the local church. We tried out different formats that can also be used easily in everyday university life. We had the opportunity to talk with people, invite them, and encourage them – and the very next day, two of them came to the church service in Gmunden.
Community was also an important part of the weekend: fun, prayer, sharing, and mutual encouragement shaped our time. Miri from Wels summed it up like this:
“It is so encouraging to have a group that is doing similar things and to realize that I’m not fighting alone. Thank you also for all the support from the staff.”
An important moment was saying goodbye to our previous SLK leaders, Anne and Isabelle. We are deeply thankful for your faithful commitment, your passion, and the way you shaped the past years with your hearts. At the same time, we are excited that Maja and Meixi are stepping into responsibility as the new SLK leaders, and we wish you all the best and God’s blessing for this task! So encouraging!
Strengthened, encouraged, and equipped, we all returned to our cities – ready for the new semester!
