The case of drugs – our society's escape route?
A pharmacist investigates.
Drugs have arrived in the mainstream of society. Cocaine costs little more than a beer. Fentanyl – actually a medicine – is replacing heroin as an opioid.
How did this happen? Drugs: they represent money, intoxication, the pursuit of new experiences, and the decline of the soul and body. The lecture will introduce new and old drugs – what they can do, how they cause harm, what ‘paradise’ they promise, and what alternatives exist. Followed by a discussion.
Speaker: Dr. Prof. Imming was head of the Institute of Pharmaceutical/Medical Chemistry and Clinical Pharmacy at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg until 2025.
