Support for specific areas

Internship – A Foundation for the Future

Like other IFES countries, ÖSM offers young people the opportunity to complete a one-year paid internship. During this time, they receive training in theology, personal development, and various skills—especially evangelism—and are mentored by experienced staff members. The goal is to prepare them for potential spiritual ministry, for professional life, and for active involvement in church life. In addition, we offer the possibility of combining the ÖSM internship with an internship in their home church. To provide this opportunity to three young people each year, we require €3,000 per month.

Graduate/Professional Ministry

Our vision does not end with graduation. ÖSM seeks to support working professionals in understanding their work as a calling from God and in reflecting Jesus in the workplace. In this way, God’s kingdom can continue to grow within professional life as well.

In addition to the already established God@Work weekend and the ÖSM Summer Days, we want to intentionally support recent graduates and young professionals through mentoring and city groups. As a first step, we aim to fully fund a 25% position for an ÖSM staff member. The monthly cost for this is €850.

Long-term Staff

Perhaps the only constant in student ministry is change. That is why staff workers are needed to give stability to a group. They support students and student leadership teams and help shape conferences and retreats such as FORUM or Student Equip.

Vienna Office and Graz Office

The well-being of our staff is very important to us, which is why we have established shared ÖSM offices in Vienna and Graz. These office spaces are also used for meetings and one-on-one conversations with students and are shared with other organizations. The monthly costs amount to €1,090.
